Manchester based Lyrican has been hard at work recently. 2011 saw his astonishing work rate rise exponentially, the first of any British MC to have had his mixtape hosted by the infamous US heavyweight ‘Dj Drama’ came as no surprise. His lyrical word-play, dominating attitude on the track, ability to sing, yet always complimenting the instrumental behind him, and finally his understandability, have been extremely well received by anyone. On a global perspective, its the most important aspect for a modern day rapper to cross over and be fully appreciated. True dedication to his passion and a drive to achieve the unachievable, have quickly made him one of the most fascinating British artists to ever surface in the rap game.
Representing us all, Lyrican has just finished recording his new project, ‘The Problem Child’ mixtape. This time, hosted by Dj Drama & The UK’s Peoples Prince: Charlie Sloth. If you haven’t seen his recently released ‘Fire in The Booth’ video, made at the BBC studios, I highly suggest you invest 10 mins to watch what pain, love and true lyricism are. It’s a great example of what a musical addict is.
